Here's a 5.5 inch tall Glitter Girls Sapphire Doll.........1982........doll is new on card, card shows some wear........Vogue, a company formerly called Lesney, often referred to as Vogue-Lesney, unveiled the Glitter Girls line in 1982. These dolls were an updated 1970s era model originally made to compete with Topper Dawn. In the 70s, they were known as Suky or Miss Matchbox.
Vogue used the same face molds but freshened the dolls with 80s era makeup and hairstyles. The line has, as its name suggests, a glitter theme. The clothes and “lifestyle” of the dolls is very similar to that of tiny fashion doll Dazzle—glitzy, nightlife oriented. Each doll is named after a gemstone, or precious stone. The doll comes with an adjustable ring with matching simulated gemstone for girls to wear
